BBQ AREA | Camp BBQ’s are available for campers use. Children must be supervised at all times in the BBQ Area. BBQ’s must be cleaned after use. The Barbecue Area. You may use your own Gas bottle or pay $5 from office to use ours. Closes at 10pm. DO NOT remove the tables from the BBQ area. |
BICYCLES | No bikes to be ridden in the campground after dark. Parents must ensure their children DO NOT ride their bikes through others camp sites. No riding on the staircase or deck by the bathrooms. |
BOAT PARKING | All boats are to be parked on your site or for motels and cabins in the designated ‘Boat Parking’ area. |
CAMP BOUNDARIES | Please stay inside the camp boundaries as the land outside the fenced areas is Private Property. |
CARAVANS/ CAMPERVANS | Caravans / Campervans must have a current C.O.F [Certificate of Fitness]. Please ensure your Caravan Power Lead has a current RCD switch. |
CHECK IN & OUT TIME | Check in time 2.00 pm, Check out time 10.00am. For Campsites, Motels and Cabins. Extensions may be given if your site/accommodation has no one booked in directly after you. Please ask at the office if you require a late check-out. A late check-out fee will be charged. |
CHILDREN | Children are to be supervised by parents at all times especially while using facilities, kitchen and especially showers – 5-minute showers only please. Please be mindful that cars, boats. Caravans etc drive through the camp frequently so please make sure you watch your children by the driveway and laneways. |
CONDUCT | Consideration must be shown at all times to other guests. We respect our neighbours and we expect you too as well. No Gang patches or insignias. Reasonable behaviour and dress expected at all times. No loud music and or noise after 10pm, no foul language. Excess drinking and parties forbidden. |
COVID – 19 | Covid-19 is still here, if you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms please do not come to camp. |
DUMP STATION | Opposite the boat wash. Please hose down any spills. Please ensure lid is closed after use. |
ELECTRICAL CABLES | All electrical leads/cables must have a current C.O.F [certificate of Fitness] on them. All Caravans, Campervans, Motorhomes and 5th Wheelers etc must have a current Electrical Warrant of Fitness. You cannot plug a 3-point plug into our campsites, you will need the Camping power chord with a Male and Female ends for vehicles and for a tent you will need the camping chord with the male end and 3-point socket at other end, available to buy at most hardware stores. All electrical leads must have a RCD switch on them. |
LAUNDRY | Washing machines cost $4.00 per load [2 x $2.00 coins must be NZ currency]. Dryers are operated by a $4.00 token purchased from the office. [The dryers do not operate with normal currency coins]. |
OFFICE /SHOP HOURS | These are displayed in the office/shop window but can change at the Managers discretion. Non-Peak Season the shop may not be attended, if you need assistance please ring the bell. |
PEAK SEASON BOOKINGS | Minimum 2 nights, Minimum 2 Campers Dec 20th until Feb 7th. |
PEAK SEASON 20TH DECEMBER TO 7TH FEBRUARY. | ALL CAMPERS NO EXEPTIONS MUST REPORT TO OFFICE BEFORE GOING TO SITE. BALANCE OF PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN FULL ON ARRIVAL. (If guest campers are to stay on your site you must report to the office and pay in full for their stay on their arrival) |
PETS | A ‘No Pet’ policy applies through the Summer during the period from: 20th December to the 7th February. As of 2022 there will be a NO Pet Policy on any Public Holiday. Pets must be on a Lead at all times on the camp grounds, the owner must clean up after the dog. |
PARKING | All Tents, Gazebos, Caravans, Campervans, Trailers, Cars, Boats etc. MUST fit on your site. We have limited extra parking available for cars and boats which must be reserved for your stay at a cost of $5.00 per night. First in first served. You MUST not park on any empty site or beachfront. ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING IN OR NEAR THE DUMP STATION. NO PARKING ON DRIVEWAY OR LANEWAYS. |
PRIVACY ACT | In line with the Privacy Act any information about our campers will not be given out. Please ensure that you meet your visitors at the office when they arrive. |
QUIET TIME | Quiet Time – between 10.00pm to 7.00am MUST BE ADHERED TO. All Loud Music and excessive noise to Stop by 10pm, that includes Children running around or in the Playground. |
REFUNDS / DEPOSITS | No refund for inclement weather. Non-cancellation or failure to show constitutes forfeiture. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the weather, therefore once checked in, you are responsible for the entire length of stay you reserved. Refunds and credits will not be made for early departures for any reason. Deposits: 50% deposit must be made within 48 hours after booking your site / accommodation. Unless you are booking for Peak Season (20th December until 7th February). All Peak Season deposits must be paid by 1st September for your site to be confirmed, we will send one reminder only and if not paid within 7 days your site will be cancelled. CANCELLATIONS: |
RUBBISH | If you are disposing of rubbish please purchase a Whangarei City Council Rubbish Bag $4.00 or if you have your own bag an official sticker at $4.00. from the Office. Please separate all bottles and plastics into the correct recyclable containers provided. ALL Fish scraps, Seafood Shells or empty Kina Shells – MUST be taken out to sea or off the rocks. Not the beach. Do not dispose of in rubbish containers and /or rubbish bags under any circumstances. |
SITE REQUIREMENTS | There must be a 1 metre clearance from the boundary line. No tents/caravans, cars, or large objects are to be closer than 1 metre from the boundary line. This is a safety requirement. Please be a safe camper and illuminate your guy ropes. |
SPEED | Speed in camp grounds to be WALKING PACE ONLY. 5km is a MUST as we have children crossing. |
SECURITY / DATA PROTECTION | Security cameras are operating 24hrs 7 days a week. The front gate gets locked at 10pm and reopened at 6am. If you wish to leave during these hours please come to the office and see Management. All the information taken at the time of booking is collected for the purpose of processing your booking. As part of our ongoing monitoring and to help us improve the services we provide, we may disclose your data to Camp Steed Limited (our booking program) who may contact you inviting you to complete a questionnaire regarding your stay at our camp. |
SHOWERS | 5 Minute showers only, Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Most camps charge for their showers, WE DON’T. Please DO NOT abuse this or we may have to get the showers metered. |
TSUNAMI EVACUATION ZONES | In the event of a Tsunami Warning during your stay a siren will sound and a blue light will flash in the camp grounds. Move immediately to the nearest higher ground behind the Camp and move as far inland as possible. If you can safely take emergency kit and any pets do so. DO NOT attempt to drive your car through the Coastal areas of Oakura and Mokau. |
VISITORS | All visitors must report to the office. A minimum cost of $5.00 per visitor applies to cover costs for all amenities. Cars are to be left outside of camp ground or parked on your site. All visitors must depart by 9.00pm |
