BBQ / SHADE AREA Bring your own gas bottles or hire one of ours. The area must be cleaned, especially the BBQs, when you finish. Children must always be supervised. The Barbecue Area closes at 8pm. DO NOT remove the tables or BBQs from this area.
BONDS A BOND for the Motels and Cabins will be required. This will be refunded after the cleaner has checked for damages/breakages or theft. Your Full account name, with your bank account details must be provided for your refund. No cash refunds sorry.
BICYCLES No bikes are to be ridden in the after dark. Parents make sure their children DO NOT ride bikes through other camp sites. No riding on the stairway to the bathrooms.
BOAT PARKING All boats are to be parked on your site, or in the designated ‘Boat Parking’ area for Motels and Cabins. First in first served.
CAMP BOUNDARIES Please stay inside the camp boundaries, as the land outside the fenced areas is Private Property.
CAMP FACILITIES Kitchen/Bathroom/Laundry – Please ensure when using our facilities, that you clean up after you. DO NOT leave any rubbish/food scraps/tissues/empty wrappers etc. laying around. If your child has an accident in the toilets, clean up after them. (We can supply you with appropriate cleaning products.)
CARAVANS Caravans must have a current C.O.F [Certificate of Fitness]. Please ensure your Caravan Power Lead has a current RCD switch.
CARS One car per Motel or Cabin. Your cars must fit on your site during Peak Season as we have limited extra parking. The extra parking is first in first served. You cannot reserve extra parking unless you pay for a full site, which is $44.00 per night.
CHECK IN & OUT TIME Check in is 2.00 pm. Check out is 10.00 am. Ask at the Office for extensions, and a late check-out fee may be charged.
CHILDREN Children are to be supervised at all times, especially while using the facilities. Be mindful that vehicles drive through the camp frequently, so make sure you watch your children by the driveway and laneways.
CONDUCT Consideration must be shown at all times to other guests. We respect our neighbours, and we expect you to as well. No Gang patches or insignias. Reasonable behaviour and dress expected at all times. No loud music or noise after 10pm. No foul language. Excess drinking and parties are forbidden.
DEPOSITS Any deposits made, must have the Booking number and Surname as the references, so that it goes towards the correct booking. For multiple bookings on one payment, please email the details of each booking. A 50% deposit for Peak Season (20th Dec – 7th Feb), is required by 1st September to confirm booking. One reminder will be sent, and if not paid within 7 days of final notice, your booking will be cancelled.
DUMP STATION Is opposite the boat wash. Please hose down any spills, and ensure lid is closed after use. DO NOT put wipes, serviettes, paper towels, nappies etc. in to the dump station, as this causes blockages.
ELECTRICAL CABLES All electrical leads/cables must have a current C.O.F [Certificate of Fitness] on them. All Caravans, Campervans, Motorhomes, and 5th Wheelers etc. must have a current Electrical Warrant of Fitness. You cannot plug a 3-point plug into our campsite power points. For vehicles, you will need the camping power cord with the Male and Female ends. For tents, you will need the camping cord with the Male end and 3-point socket ends. These are available to buy at most hardware stores. All electrical leads must have an RCD switch on them.
FIRST AID If you need first aid please come to the office, as we have basic products available. A defibrillator is available in the Office for emergencies. For serious injuries ring 111.
LAUNDRY Washing machines and 1 Dryer use 2 x $2.00 coins (NZ), and 2 dryers use a $4.00 token purchased from the shop/office. When busy, use one machine at a time.
OFFICE /SHOP HOURS These are displayed in the office/shop window but can change at the Managers discretion. Non-Peak Season the shop may be unattended, so ring the bell for assistance.
PEAK SEASON – 20th DEC TO 7th FEB There is a minimum booking requirement of 2 nights for the Accommodation, and 2 Adults for 2 nights on Campsites. ALL CAMPERS, NO EXCEPTIONS, MUST REPORT TO OFFICE BEFORE GOING TO SITE, and BALANCES MUST BE PAID IN FULL ON ARRIVAL. (Any extra guests, must report to the office and pay for their entire stay on arrival). There is no Check-ins or Checkouts on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
PETS A ‘No Pet’ policy applies from the 10th December to the 10th February. There is a NO Pet Policy on any Public Holiday. Pets must always be on a lead while on the camp grounds, and the owner must clean up after the dog, and doggie bags go in your own rubbish.
PARKING All Tents, Gazebos, Caravans, Campervans, Trailers, Cars, Boats etc. MUST fit within your site. We have limited extra parking available for cars and boats which will cost $5.00 per night per space. You MUST not park on any empty site or beachfront. ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING, ON BEACHFRONT, IN OR NEAR THE DUMP STATION, ON DRIVEWAY OR LANEWAYS. PARKING ON ANY EMPTY SITES COULD INCUR THE FULL SITE RATE.
PLAYGROUND The playgrounds will be closed from 8pm to 9am. All small children MUST always be supervised.
PRIVACY ACT In line with the Privacy Act any information about our campers will not be given out. Please ensure that you meet your visitors at the office when they arrive.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS No refund for inclement weather. Non-cancellation or failure to show constitutes forfeiture. We cannot guarantee the weather, so once checked in, you are to pay the entire length of stay you reserved. Refunds will not be made for early departures. CANCELLATIONS: 20th Dec to 7th Feb must be 4 calendar weeks before your arrival date, or 8th Feb to 19th Dec must be 7 days before your arrival date, for a full refund of deposit less a $20.00 administrative fee.    
RUBBISH/RECYCLING ALL CAMPSITE users must use Whangarei District Council Rubbish bags or Stickers for your site rubbish. Please separate all bottles and plastics into the correct recyclable bins provided. Fish scraps and Seafood Shells – MUST be taken out to sea, not dumped on the beach. (Do not dispose of in rubbish bins and/or rubbish bags under any circumstances.) All Hard rubbish Must be taken to the Oākura Transfer Station.
SITE REQUIREMENTS Please be a safe camper and illuminate your guy ropes. All Tents, Gazebos, Caravans, Campervans, Trailers, Cars, Boats etc. MUST fit on your site. If you have parked on an empty site, you will incur the full one night’s fee of $44.00.
SPEED Speed in camp grounds is WALKING PACE ONLY. 5km is a MUST as we have children crossing.
SECURITY Security cameras are operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
SHOWERS
5-minute showers only. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Most camps charge for their showers, WE DON’T. DO NOT abuse this or we may have to get the showers metered.
TSUNAMI EVACUATION ZONES In the event of a Tsunami Warning, a siren will sound and a blue light will flash in the camp grounds. Move immediately to the nearest higher ground behind the Camp and move as far inland as possible. If you can safely take a emergency kit and any pets do so. DO NOT attempt to drive through the Coastal areas of Oākura and Mokau.
VISITORS All visitors must report to the office. A minimum cost of $5.00 per visitor applies to cover costs for all amenities.  Cars are to be left outside of the camp ground. Visitor hours are between 9am and 6pm.
WATER USAGE We are on TANK WATER here, so please be mindful of your water usage. NO swimming pools, NO washing vehicles, and NO more than one 5-minute shower per person, per day.
